Kanaka Maoli are spread across 40+ regions, often disconnected from their ʻāina and identity.
For more than 130 years, Kānaka Maoli have endured systemic displacement, forced assimilation, and loss of lands — all without international remedy or acknowledgment of their sovereign status.
Nearly 60% of Kānaka Maoli today live outside of Hawai‘i. Many have no access to cultural lands, language, or legal identity connected to their lineage. The result is a fragmented people, scattered by colonization, poverty, and policy. The impact of this loss is felt across every metric — and still, no formal mechanism exists to return what was taken.
But a new movement has emerged.
The Hawaiian Alliance is organizing global citizens to restore land, names, and nationhood. We are building digital tools to issue IDs, distribute reparations, and re-establish a Hawaiian-led governing structure.
There is no single solution to colonization — but there is a path to reconnection, reclamation, and revival. The time to act is now.

Reconnecting Hawai‘i, One ʻOhana at a Time.
More than 100,000 Hawaiians today live displaced, disconnected, or without formal recognition in their own homeland. But across the globe, a quiet movement is growing—focused on reconnection, restoration, and collective dignity.
The Hawaiian Alliance offers a space for Kanaka Maoli and our Indigenous allies to reconnect through story, identity, and shared kuleana. Through light digital tools and community-led organizing, we’re supporting efforts in name reclamation, land return, and economic pathways rooted in cultural values.
This work is generational—and it begins with each of us.
Your voice, your presence, your pilina matters.
